For sometime now I’ve been feeling the need to be out there. Getting a webpage through the University appeared too complicated, so for three years I did nothing. Then I started teaching a graduate class on Auditory Cognition. As it turns out, most students (and some faculty) had no idea that such a field exists. Preparing to teach the class for the third time, I realized that I was no longer sure what Auditory Cognition is, which prompted me to start this website.
If you’re interested those are the issues the class now attempts to cover:
How the auditory system represents speech, music and environmental sounds
Non-sensory aspects in auditory processing
Auditory learning and plasticity
Clinical populations with disorders of Auditory Cognition (after all, I am affiliated in a mainly clinical department)
